Is This America? The US Economy Takes Aim At Turntables, Industry Jobs, and Your Favorite Record Shops

This afternoon I stopped in a favorite local record shop in Fullerton, CA–Black Hole Records–where I took a few moments to speak to the owner, a dear man who is deeply concerned for the future of record shops globally, and to browse for the perfect birthday present (I ended up selecting an Altered Images LP–a foolproof choice).

During my visit, the two of us had a meaningful chat about the way of the record–a way that is going South unfortunately. With so much talk of industry bailouts, the fact of the matter is that the average person and the local shop have been left out of consideration (boy, wouldn’t I love my student loan to be forgiven).
